For those looking to enjoy the craggy Hatta terrain, Dubai Police’s newest off-road buggy fleet will offer them protection with smart 360 cameras to keep close watch.
A Dubai Police spokesperson told Tempi di Khaleej that the buggies, which will replace their current fleet, will also be able to scan faces and read screens.
Agent Ali from the ‘Hatta Braves’ team at Hatta Police Station said that these buggies will operate exclusively in Hatta. He added that the station has made specific orders of the buggy manufacturers (a Canadian company called Bombardier Recreational Products) to include a specific drone placement on the buggy, as well as essentials such as flashlights and bags.
Currently, the police force operates three of these “smart” buggies, but the agent said that more will be added soon.

The buggies will be used by specialised teams from the ‘Hatta Braves’, which is a rescue unit part of Dubai Police that operates under the Hatta Police Station, and focuses on rescue operations in hard-to-reach areas.
These teams are highly trained and specialised in dealing with and responding to emergencies. This year, the rescue personnel saved more than 200 people by providing emergency medical support and saved 25 people who were stranded in Hatta’s rugged terrain.
