Pakistan aims to grow its economy into $1 trillion over the next 10 years, said Ahsan Iqbal, Pakistan\u2019s federal minister for planning, development and special initiatives, in Dubai.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking during a reception held in Dubai to commemorate Pakistan\u2019s National Day in Dubai, Iqbal outlined the government\u2019s ambitious economic vision under the Urran Pakistan initiative, aimed at transforming Pakistan into a $1 trillion economy by 2035.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He pointed out that Pakistan\u2019s young population, strategic location, untapped resources, and reforms that are positioning the country as a regional hub for trade and innovation. Investment will play a key role in reaching the $1 trillion economy milestone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The International Monetary Fund projected that Pakistan’s economy would grow at a steady pace of 2.6 per cent in 2025, almost similar to last year (2.5 per cent). It forecasted faster growth at 3.6 per cent for 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Addressing the gathering, Hussain Muhammad, Consul General at the Pakistan consulate in Dubai, highlighted the significance of the Pakistan Resolution as the foundation of a resilient, diverse, and forward-looking nation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He invited global partners to explore the vast opportunities available in Pakistan across key sectors such as energy, IT, agriculture, minerals and tourism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The consul-general also emphasised the deep-rooted and historic ties between Pakistan and the UAE, acknowledging the visionary leadership of the UAE\u2019s founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He paid tribute to the over 1.7 million-strong Pakistani diaspora in the UAE, describing them as a vibrant bridge between the two nations, and expressed gratitude to the UAE leadership for their continued support and friendship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A special highlight of the evening was the presentation of the book \u201cSheikh Zayed: The Builder of the Nation\u201d, recently launched in Abu Dhabi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Authored by Khan Zaman Saroor, a senior and long-standing member of the Pakistani community in the UAE, the book is a heartfelt tribute to the late Sheikh Zayed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Khalid Muhammad Al-Kaabi from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dubai Office, graced the occasion as the chief guest. Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, Pakistan\u2019s Envoy to the UAE, also attended the reception.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The highlight of the opening ceremony was a cultural performance by school children dressed in traditional Pakistani and Emirati attire, who performed on the national anthems of both countries, symbolising the enduring bond between Pakistan and the UAE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
